Yes. It did help knowing a bit about Newcastle and Gateshead. Alan.

I started this book and for a while not much happened and I found it all
rather mixed up and disjointed. Then I got to know the characters and
became involved and I was hooked. some of the scenes were fairly strong,
but I have no objection to that. I would think those like Alan and Ian who
know Newcastle will get more out of this book, as there was so much
atmosphere.

There was certainly a lot of action, and I will read the others in the
series as Sandra scans them.

Strangely enough, I heard of this author on another list and ordered a book
from my library, only to find that Sandra was scanning it.

Definitely a real find, and if we can all choose books by authors we do not
know, and if they are all as good as this, then the list will serve its
purpose. Shell's book is certainly by an author new to me, so I look
forward to that one.

I loved this book. I had never heard of the author before, so wasn't sure
what to expect.
Now it will deffinately feature in my top ten reads of the year. The
characters were so real and the story moved along so quickly, but I never
felt lost in it. I can't wait to read the next one, which I have ready
here, thanks to Sandra, but can't get round to for a few books yet.
Looking forward to what everyone else thought.
Shell.
