I hope this project is still alive!
anyway,
I just built the project succesfully on ubuntu 13.10... i needed the following
fixes:
1 - run python ./setup.py build, not make install
2 - created a simlink named f77 to g77 in the /usr/bin directory (the 2007
versions of blas and lapack seem to use f77)
3 - removed all references to the g2c library (obsolete)
