Everybody is so keen on me playing Spain but nobody has provided me yet a game
file where I could see the counters xD
If I am to have 48hours per country played (not that I will necessarily need
all of it - yet I need some time to adapt), I am fine with it..

Now, after much contemplation, I decided I do not wish to leave the game,
neither do I Imagine myself changing my mind on the matter in the near future.
However I would rate the aforementinoed options in the following order (from
most to least attractive):

Although people coming and going do offer a breath of fresh air and a
diplomatic challenge, one of the main reasons I started playing was the fact
that I assumed a stable player base would exist.
Both because it is required for the game to be competitive AND due to the fact
I wanted to invest in it.

I share exactly the same thoughts with Dimitris and to everything he mentioned
I would like to add the following.
I do not play to win, I play to have fun. Nevertheless every player change has
led me (and will lead) to some sort of frustration; I can only imagine that the
same more or less applies to the rest of you. How will a new player be able to
handle a war (against relatively experienced players)? How long will it take
for the newbie to go through the myriad of rules? After Leartis' departure the
VP track has become a farce in my eyes.
How many times did I have to reapproach my strategy due to the departure of a
player? How much time spent bargaining was in vain? My gradual lack of interest
in "rp-ing" due to the inherit risk of people departing has become apparent...
And at the end of the day, every time someone leaves, a part of the game dies
for me. Because the relations between the players and their understanding of
the game is part of it. In its essence, EiA is a role playing game. You need
people to "understand it" in order to have fun with it...
Not even mentioning my desire to have EiA(/H) become some sort of a
semi-regular thing and maintaining a more or less given composition would add
immensely to the experience.

In any case, since this is getting lengthy...
I do not wish to use the farce of a mechanism that UMPs are. If we are to
continue I wish for Spain to be controlled by a player. Ideally, I would not
wish for that player to be me. I already control the Ottoman Empire. Therefore
I wish the game to pause until we find someone interested. If the majority
doesn't agree, I am willing to play Spain if Makis doesn't want to.
As with everything, I'm not really into half measures. I wish to do things
"properly"!

chose it. of what i have, NOW i'll go for 1-3-2.
my suggestion is to avoid having Spain uncontrolled and if possible have a
player who would like to be focused on the game, who will interact with all
other players and who will show respect to the time and mood we have invested
so far. i'd be happy if i knew him and even more if he will be able to give
Spain a character. just like (hated Laertis did)
