Dear James / Triodaos,
could you give us some advice regarding your services and options for raising
a small amount of capital for our business?
We have set up a "international democratic cooperative private company" that
promotes sustainable and equitable living. We are currently setting up in
Gambia and UK.
We have orders for work in UK and Gambia, but shaky on start up funds. We
currently bank with Lloyds, but with minimal transactions, but are soon to
increase the activity to fulfil these orders. As a company we have insufficient
track record for overdrafts or loans.
(We did look to Triodos as a banker, but your current account was not really
operating at that stage).
We are looking to a loan of £1500 for our Gambia operations with quick
payback. Our UK operations we will need possibly £2000 although we can manage
without funds through personal funding.
Two of our members (UK residents) have solid finances and credit rating. We
understand that we could self fund the Gambia operations, but as a democratic
company, we are striving to spread the risk amongst members as a way to go
forward.
We are interested in funding for the above shortfall, as well as possible
funding for a number of projects which we are examining for their potential.
All in the field of sustainable living in here or Africa.
Could you give us some advice as to the best way to proceed or direct us to
others who may assist us?
