Subject: [eccotalk] Walk along Redmires conduit - Saturday 7th March 10am-3pm.
I am currently looking after a dog, and rather than take him for a walk
by myself, i propose a walk along the Redmires conduit this Saturday,
March 7th, 10am - 3pm.
We will meet at the corner of Everton and Wiseton Roads at 10am, and
walk up to King Edward 7th school at Crosspool to pick up the end of the
conduit, and follow it out to Redmires reservoirs, where we will have a
paked lunch, and then return down Mayfield and the Porter Valley,
stopping at Forge Dam fro hot drinks and cake. Distance 16km or 10 miles.
The Redmires conduit was completed in 1833 to provide a clean water
supply for the rapidly expanding city. It was replaced by piped and
pumped water in 1909. See attached for history.

be caught at a number of points.
