Last week sixth form student and aspiring journalist and actress Safiya

did online work experience with us through Arts Emergency (find out more

her placement Safiya produced two fantastic articles for the website.
First up, her review of Pizza Shop Heroes

story of four young men from Afghanistan, Eritrea and Albania travelling
to the UK with hopes of seeking asylum. "A bold play that will make you
uncomfortable, make you laugh, make you cry, make you want to break the
third wall and give each actor a big hug" though "the actors insist that
we leave our pity at the door." The play was part of the ace online
Migration Matters Festival.

Warda Yassin is an award-winning British-Somali poet who is "dedicated
to her craft and wants to encourage young people to reap the benefits of

The Book of Sheffield is a new collection of short stories set in our
city, written by established and emerging Sheffield authors. As part of
the Year of Reading, Sheffield Libraries are launching the book with
