Hello everyone
I too love wild flowers and try to attract bees in the garden. In fact would
love a bee hive.
However I have a love of mowed lawns and like to see the verges mowed and kept
tidy. We tend to do each other’s verges here. I would like the council to stop
using sprays and save the scarce resources for more important things
Hopefully will see some of you to do the litter pick

Hi Clare,
Your idea sounds great - one slight issue: wildflower-meadows-style grass
patches are often (mis)taken for 'dog areas' by dog owners who then conclude
that they don't need to clean up... and tall grass hides the leftovers!
So we might need to grow some signposting, together with the wildflowers. :)
Cheers,
Fides

Hi all,
I'm just wondering what people's views are about the council spraying &
cutting the grass verges on Endcliffe Glen Road. I've attached 3 photos.
Grass verges in Rotherham getting recognition for attracting bees, insects
and wildlife. My son looking at a bee on the recent sprayed verge on
Endcliffe Glen road, and then today with all the long grass cut. The dead
grass at the edges from spraying seems so unnecessary. We should be
attracting bees and wildlife not deterring it.
Could we consider asking the council not to spray in our area and instead
growing wildflowers along these verges next year?
I can't make meetings very often but is this something that could be
discussed?
Thanks, Clare Anderson
