We live in an open and tolerant city with nothing but respect for our
armed forces.
That’s why I’m supporting the community lead campaign to *protect the
memorial trees on Western Road* in Crookes which are marked to be cut
down. The trees were planted in memory of the students of Westways
School who gave everything for their country in the First World War.
Independent experts say that these trees can be saved and I feel we
should do all we can to protect them and everything they symbolise.
This isn’t just about trees anymore, it’s about the type of city we want
to live in.
