Thank you for your emails dated 4 and 12 September 2018. We take all
complaints seriously and try to use them to make our services better.
Your complaint is regarding footway works on Everton Road. I am Nick
Hetherington, Programme and Asset Account Manager for Streets Ahead and I
have overall responsibility for the delivery of upgrade works across
Sheffield. I have investigated your complaint and not Vince Varnam as
previously advised. I am writing to inform you of my findings.
Firstly, please accept my apologies for the delay in carrying out this
work. Unfortunately, when the original stone flags were lifted a
significant number of them fell apart. We therefore need to source
replacements.
As the temporary reinstatement, had been in place for a number of months
the decision was made to surface the section of pavement in tarmac until
the replacement stone flags are sourced. I can confirm that this is only a
temporary repair.
I expect that we will be able to source a replacement supply of stone flags
and to programme the reinstatement of the footway by the end of this year.

For the attention of Vince Varnam.
I understand that you are investigating my complaint about the paving
stones that were removed from the path on Everton Road and have now been
replaced with tarmac. Just to give you some background information.
These stones (plus curb stones) were removed in February, before work
started on the roads here and the curb stones replaced with concrete ones.
At the time I send an email to Claire Tideswell and on the 19th February
had a telephone call from Claire Tideswell saying that a mistake had been
made. She said that the curb stones had been taken for repair and the
paving stones taken for safe keeping and would be returned. In due course
the curb stones were returned but not the paving stones.
Perhaps this will shorten your investigation.

Another complaint I am afraid.
A few months ago paving stones were taken up and removed from the end of
Everton Road.
I was informed that they had been taken for safe keeping and would be
returned.
However yesterday the area of path was laid with tarmac.
Please could this be rectified.

Kerbing work on Everton Road and Wiseton Road is being undertaken prior to
carriageway surfacing which is scheduled to start week commencing 13
August 2018, and temporary reinstatements have been carried out to these
areas.
On completion of carriageway surfacing, a programme of footway work will
commence which will include the reinstatement of the flag footways. The
temporary reinstatements have been inspected to ensure they are in a safe
condition.

I wish to make a complaint about work on the roads around everton and
wiseton roads.
yesterday the curb stones on the corner of everton and wiseton roads were
reset and raised,then because the curb stones were higher than the pavement
flag stones black tarmac was slapped on top of the flag stones.
attached is a photograph (this is after i had tried to tidy it as it was
previously very untidy). it is very unsightly. the curb stones should
have been set on a slant or the flag stones raised.
