Hi Clare and Everyone I like all the World War I books mentioned so far and would also recommend "The Passing Bell" by Philip Rock, which I got from Calibre. As well as being about the war it is about the class differences and the way they were broken down. Another book I like is Vera Britain's Autobiography "Testament of Youth" about her work in the War. But I could not get on with "Goodbye to all That", Robert Graves' autobiography. I had to read it for A Level, so might give it another go sometime. Pele Pele
