Hello Steve,
I loved both "The Forgotten garden" and "The House At Riverton" by Kate
Morton, her book "The Distant Hours" less so but still finished it; However,
confess I cannot bear Kate Grenville's work; embarrassing since I have had
to interview her, though we got on well enough. I just find her talent for
constant uglification of all and any situations (and am not suggesting
rose-tinted glasses for every book or scene) too oppressive. Perhaps I would
find it easier were her writing not so convincing.
