Glad you enjoyed it Ian,
  I read it on Talking book, so didn't have those problems. There is a sequel 
to it, which only came out a couple of years ago, about 10 years after the 
first one.  I may give it a go, but I'd like to find it on audio I think.
I think the South Riding will also be my next read too.
