This is appalling, David, and I think you are right. It must surely be discrimatory! Every three months or so I get a newsletter from the Hertfordshire Society for the blind. It has little of interest to me personally and is generally concerned with what its own staff are doing, i.e. retiring or getting married. The rest of the newsletter is all about fundraising and how we can help. Until a year or so ago I received this in braille, but I was informed that if I wished to have anything other than a normal print version I would have to pay £5 a year. Surely this must be contrary to the Disability Discrimination Act? I was horrified, and probably should have followed it up, but did not do so. I know we are straying from books a little, but it is not entirely unconnected with reading, so it is relevant to our list. David
