Clare, thanks for the book - no, you hadn't sent it, and so it is now doubly
welcome as it's just the thing I need for a morning in a coffee shop while
David rings the bells! I rather like books about smallish, close
communities, and schools are fascinating places.

Subject: [ebooktalk] Book Promised to June

I thought while I was sending this to June, one or two others might enjoy
it. It's set in a girls' school, but is mainly about the adults who work
there. It was published in 1951, and nothing is known about the author,
which seems sad after such a short lapse of time. June, I hope I hadn't
already sent this, but I don't think I had. Clare
