Office depot has the machines.....electric or manual plus the combs. You
can see them on their website.

I couldn't believe it, but Staples' didn't have the binding setup! They
had
a punch, and combs, but that's all. Wonder if all those machines, at
least
the manual ones, are doable without vision.

thanks for all your input, very valuable!

Hi Karen,
I use a manual binder from Southwest Plastic binding. It cost around
$180.00
The office supply stores like Staples and Ofice Max sell manual binders.
If you want to buy in small quantities of combs, you might be better off
going to the office supply stores. Price will be higher, but you can get
much smaller quantities.
As for sizes of combs, I most often use 1/2 3/4 and 1 inch. I do lots of
small and medium size docs. If you're doing larger or multi-volume
books, you'll want 2-inch
combs.

Oh, my goodness! I'm looking at the comb binding setups here on
www.officezone.com and have no idea which to recommend to my board! Any
advice here, guys? We're rieieieiieieieieieiely small, and won't need
to do all that much braille at one time. Any machines you guys use and
like?

thanks much!

Barbara,

You can get binding combs at just about any office supply, although the
larger sizes may not be available everywhere. I get mine from
www.officezone.com, which has all sizes up to and including 2 inches in
several colors. I don't know if they have the best prices, but I don't
know of anywhere else that carries sizes larger than 1.5 inches.
