George, Once again you have proved that your blood is worth bottling ... and you've made me smile on a Monday morning as well!. This was indeed the problem and now it's working like a charm. Sorry about the user ignorance ... I bet I'm not the only one that doesn't know about the style delimiter Ctrl + Shift < > wotsits though :-O. Software are not all that wise after all!!. The method you describe here is exactly the way I USED to do this in 10.4 with nary a hiccup, but I'm darned if I can get it to work in 10.5. It's Monday morning remember ... ;-D. Any other ideas like do I have to tick a box or summat, or better idea--go home and start the week tomorrow? (smile) "To do this, you must be in coded view, and it takes *two* search/replace operations: 1. From the Replace dialog, using Control-< in the "Text to find" field enter the style tag "<para.>". Tab to the "Replace with" field, and, using Control-[, enter the code "[l]". Replace All. 2. On a second visit to the Replace dialog (after Control-Home), put the style tag "</para.>" in the "Text to find" field. Leave "Replace with" blank. Replace All. This will replace every <para.> tag with [l] and remove the </para.> tags altogether. I presume it's obvious how to adapt the instructions if instead you prefer to change the ending tags (</para.>) to [l] and eliminate the starting tags. There won't be a difference in the formatted document in most cases." Good luck with it, sport, George. ________________________________ From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Blackburn, Alan Sent: 03 March 2005 23:24 To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] pesky para's G'day All, I have imported a document into 10.5 that has ended up with so many <para.> </para.> codes that they are on virtually every line, hence I want to delete ALL of them (preferably NOT individually!) to re-format from scratch. How do I do this in the print doc. or the braille doc.
