You need to be more specific about what software is being used. I'm guessing
this is Word?
DBT does not recognize pts from Word. If you are talking about a vertical
layout, you'll need to determine how many blank lines that is and let DBT
know how many blank lines to insert. You'll need to either use the
[[*skn#*]] code in Word (# is the number of blank lines) or press Enter for
each blank line and make sure your DBT Word Importer option is set to
"Preserve Skipped lines."
DBT compresses all soft spaces to a single space. If you want to insert
extra spaces between word horizontally you'll need to use nonbreaking hard
spaces. That is done by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Spacebar.

I need to create flash cards from a word document.
The vocabulary is in a table, so I eliminated the table, and set the layout
to be 162
pts between words, so that I can emboss them and then cut them out as cards.
How do I get duxbury to keep the formatting I set up when I bring it into
duxbury? At this point when I bring it in, it eliminates the spaces. I tried
to set the template for 'formatted text but I got a 'widget deleting alert'
