There are three ways to reduce noise from something like an embosser — isolate
(keep it far away from you), cushion (put a cushion under it to reduce
vibration and noise), and contain (put it in a sound-absorbing enclosure).
Debby's method is `contain`.
Combining `cushion` and `contain` — even lining the walls of the enclosure with
high density foam — is probably the best choice if you can muster it.
Ear protection is recommended if you can't do these things — and as Debby
tells, even in addition to these things. Our hearing is irreparably harmed with
long exposure to sounds above 90dB. Embossers are usually louder than that.
It may help to note that you'll get about 90dB if you stand 10 feet from a
running model airplane engine. The frequency, or pitch, of the sound doesn't
matter when determining dB (decibels).
Regardless the sound that you hear, it is usually one's ability to hear high
pitch sounds that is damaged first.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. By the way, I have a Juliet Pro 60.
