I do many such trainings for folks who cannot read Braille, and what is easiest is to have them do as much formatting as possible in MS Word. When you take the file into Duxbury, they can work in the print view for simple things and in the print code view when working with codes. I do not have them go into Braille view until right before they emboss. I explain a bit about ASCII Braille but more so that they understand how to create labels for tactile graphics in Duxbury and then copy and paste them into the program in which they are creating the drawing. I also do a three-day training on how to read Braille, but that is a separate training. My Duxbury training is one day on basics and a second day on how to do math, foreign language, write codes, etc. Good luck! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Gaeir (rhymes with "fire") Dietrich Alternate Media Training Specialist / Instructor High Tech Center Training Unit De Anza College, Cupertino, CA 408.996.6043 www.htctu.net -----Original Message----- From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Foxworth, Ann Sent: Thursday, March 03, 2005 8:32 AM To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] View in duxbury I am about to conduct training for people who are not braille users. What would be the best view for them to use as they are learning Duxbury? Which options should they have ckeckmarked in the view menu? Ann Foxworth, Braille Consultant Div. for Blind Services 4800 N.
