Since formatting is not part of the UEB rules, this varies from country to
country.
Out of curiosity, will check the styles you mention. It's always good to know
what tricks we have up our sleeves should they come in handy.

If I understand it right, the [tns] text string [tne] applies when you have a
transcriber's note that's seven words or less e.g., See map on p.96. There's
also a TranscriberNote-Embed style for that.
The TranscriberNote. style gets used for longer notes, and indents the first
line to cell7, with runovers in cell5.

Here in Australia we have a nested or character style, TNote, which
has beginning codes [tns] and end codes [tne]
The English (UEB) - Basic template has the two styles 1. TN-Embed

style (without the full stop) which just has the codes for the the
indicators as per the basic TN-Embed style.
The Australian formatting template has a TNote style codes the same as
the TN-Embed style.
I hope this helps.
Unless you specifically want to have a transcriber note in a stand out
7-5 paragraph, you stick to a style which just has the [tns] and [tne]
codes or manually add the codes yourself.

SBP - English (Unified) - UK formatting UEB v4
I suspect that the TranscriberNote. style part of it would be the same
as whatever the "standard basic" template from Duxbury (if there is
one) would be.

Whenever you ask a question, or give a response, please reference the
template you are using as this can make a difference in understanding
what is being asked.
The templates distributed with DBT have been developed by local
braille authorities to suit the local formatting conventions. Styles
with the same or similar names can in fact work quite differently in each
template.

There seems to be a slight difference between using the different codings:
[tns] and [tne] - create the opening and closing Transcriber's Note
symbols and do not affect format Style TranscriberNote - formats the
text (start in cell 7 and runover to cell 5)
Something to keep in mind depending on how you want your formatting.

Section 3.27 of the UEB Rule Book, print page 39 has the information
on Transcriber Note Indicators.
In DBT you can use the code [tns] and [tne] in a print document to get
the respective opening and closing transcriber note indicators.
Depending on the template you are using, there may be Transcriber Note
or equivalent style which you can use. To use, the text of the
transcriber note needs to go between the opening and closing tags of the
style.
Either: Highlight the transcriber note text, press F8 to bring up the
list of styles and apply the Transcriber Note style
OR: press F8, choose Transcriber Note style, then type the note text.
You then need to press the right arrow key to move the cursor past the
end tag of the style.
