Jerry,
If you tab past the list of templates, you'll find a checkbox that says "Set
template as default." If after selecting the template from the list, you check
that box, the template you selected will be used for all future documents.
Note, however, that documents created with a different template will still use
the template they were created with.

I was wondering about something. Whenever a new document is opened in DBT,
there is an option for templates. My question is this: If I set a template for
Unified English Braille – BANA, and set the document as this specific template,
does that mean that each and every document from that point on will be in that
