Hi Ray, I suggest you perhaps gen up on creating a Template to produce Grade 1, and install that on his system, perhaps as the default. For pure speed of getting up and running quickly, concentrate on his Word skills, which will certainly not be time wasted. He will benefit from this in his normal printed work, and of course when importing into DBT. We have a client to whom we gave a donated computer and a Braille Blazer embosser. The computer has Duxbury 10.7 demo on it. This person needs some training on Duxbury and I'm going to train with him in about 10 days, probably spending 2 to 2 and a half hours during that first training session. I think this person will want to emboss pretty basic documents such as letters, homework assignments, and the like. He does want to know how to put things into Grade 1 and Computer Braille. I've already shown him how to italicize things in word and how the italics are imported to Duxbury. Like I am sure many of us did, I learned just what I needed to learn when I started using Duxbury. So my question, especially to those who have done training in Duxbury is, what are some of the things you'd suggest I teach this person, particularly in the short time we'll have together to get him started with Duxbury? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Ray Campbell, Help Desk Technician Adaptive Technology Center Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired 1850 W.
