Hopefully an expert JAWS user will chime in here, but I had
a feeling there was a setting in JAWS as you describe.

No, I fixed the problem with the blank pages, the blazer had
some settings 
set that were supposed to be 0, FS told me that jaws won't
read grade2 
braillle but I'm pritty sure when I first translated a
document it did. 
Fortunately I am a braille reader and very femiliar with
computer braille.
