Hi Neal, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I actually used the &(+) sign in the DBT code list and that's the one that didn't translate correctly. The + sign did indeed work out correctly. My sincere apologies. It is useful to attach the source file, dxp file, and dxb file; along with information on what version of OS, DBT, etc you are using. Technical support is free to all registered DBT customers. What version of DBT are you using? How did you enter the math? When I try it in version 11.1 sr4 using English/British braille translation table 2 +2 =4 translates to: #b ;6#b ;7#d (in case the braille does not show up: Dots 3456,12 space 56,235 3456,12 space 56,2356,3456,145 Or ASCII of: #b ;6#b ;7#d I do not know BAUK braille maths so I am not sure that is what you are looking for? Double check your selected translation table in DOCUMENT>TRANSLATION TABLES Hope this helps, Cheers, Neal -----Original Message----- From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Albert Toh Sent: Wednesday, May 23, 2012 8:19 PM To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] Translation Issues Hello! I am new to the list and a new DBT user. I have a few questions to ask of list members and would appreciate your help to solve these issues. When translating maths such as the plus sign, DBT doesn't seem to translate it as expected. I am using English/British textbook format with capital letters. Consider the following example: 2 +2 =4. The translated text remains a plus and not dots 5-6 followed by dots 2-3-5. Also, if there are punctuation marks such as a comma or full stop separating each number, e.g. 3, 5, 7, 9 and so forth, how can I separate them with a dot 6 before the punctuation mark? Also, consider the following example: [q~3333333333333] In 1 Volume [q~3333333333333] The translated version is as below: 3333333333333 ,in #a ,volume 3333333333333 Shouldn't the ",in" be contracted? I am sure I will have more questions along the way, but that's all for the time being. Would be grateful to any member who can help me with these issues.
