I was taught to do it this way. When in the search dialog box, press f5 to
bring up the codes list press the apostrophe key to get to the hard space
code and then press enter. The code will appear in the dialog box. This
method worked in 10.4d for DOS as well as 10.5. I may have the numbers
wrong--what I mean is the method worked in the last version which could be
used with either DOS or Windows.
