Hello Ian & George,

The trouble is that DBT opens some file types that don't always come with
standard extensions -- notably text files.

We could add an "Openable files" category (and this wouldn't take very
long), but the result would, I believe, be a bit misleading.

The .XLS file opening issue is another matter entirely.  Ian, can you please
tell me whether the file import dialog ever pops up and, if so, what "import
filter" is highlighted when it first appears?

The File Open dialogue currently shows all files.  Does anyone else agree
that it would be better if it only showed those file types that can be
opened by DBT?

In the event that a user does try to open, for example, a .xls file, no
error message is displayed.  The file just fails to open.
