Lissa,

I agree that the name doesn't well describe the functionality.  Others
lurking on the list will presumably disagree.  It was designed that way to
meet a customer request.

You can turn highlighted text into italics by applying the italic style.
There is, however, no keyboard shortcut for that.  And "Apply last style"
doesn't become a keyboard shortcut for the function at any time because the
italic style is a nestable style, not a linear style.  Problem 1518 (Request
to add menu items and shortcuts for bold, italic, and underline) remains on
file, but probably will not be addressed in this beta cycle.  Certainly not
if we're chasing after more lockups.

Ah, I see, I think. It's a bit counterintuitive: I go to the menu and I see
"apply style" and "apply last style," so I assumed that I could apply any
style that was in the above style list (in this case, italics).

Is there any way to "quickly" turn highlighted text into italics in a dxp
file? Thanks.
