We took our kids through the Spruce Goose on a family trip to Disneyland
many many years ago. The plane was parked at Long Beach next to the Queen
Mary. Very impressive. I have never heard of the Evergreen Museum, but it
looks great. We might have driven right past it on a lazy drive down to our
place in San Diego one November. Only we didn't see much of anything except
fog, rain, hail, sideways rain with fog, sleet, etc. - you get the picture.
The clouds broke and the sun came out as we topped a hill and looked out at
the skyline of Los Angeles. If we ever try that route again, I will look for
the museum. My favorite is still the Smithsonian, but the smaller air &
space museums collect odd ball stuff that always seems to surprise you.
Nice photos. Last saw the Snowbirds over Lake Winnipeg. Great show - old
airplanes.

I have enjoyed reading the emails concerning the Avro plane especially as I
sit on my deck and watch the Snowbirds practise in their ancient jets. I
also remember visiting the Reynolds Museum long enough ago where we were
allowed to sit in the cars or on the motorcycles to have our picture taken.
For those really interested in historical planes, on the scenic drive from
Portland, Oregon to Lincoln City on the coast, there is a small town called
McMinnville which has a huge air museum and Howard Hughes Spruce Goose is
one of the attractions -
