Hello Wynn. Wow, it is frightening how quickly serious accidents
can happen. Yours is an excellent reminder to us all that advancing age and
ice do not mix well unless the ice is in a glass.

It happened in my side yard and had to crawl about 15 feet to my back door
I made the ambulance people splint it as the foot sort of just sort of
fell to the side.

I can empathize completely. Back in 1990 I broke my left ankle - triple
fracture breaking both ‘knobs’ off and turning my foot sideways. I was out
on a 6:00 am New Years morning run in a park area by myself. Had to
crawl/hop about .5 km to get help. People would not stop as they thought I
was a left over from a party. Finally someone did, got me home then wife
drove me into hospital. Since then have plate on one side of ankle with
about twelve screws and a rod up the other bone. Six months in cast, rehab,
etc. All good since then.
So all the best to you, you will heal just fine I am sure.

At least 3 broken bones but ankle snapped
Now have a rod in leg from knee to foot and plate in foot
Foot facing wrong way when attempted
to stand. Tibia in 2 pieces
Not much pain but out of commission for a while. Surgery on Thu. Still in
hospital until ???
Now in an air boot.
