Hi All,
I follow Tesla news, and bought a Model 3 in 2018. Tesla has been selling the
Model 3 in Australia for at least a year, and started selling the Model Y this
month. I read somewhere that the Aussie government installed a network of DC
fast chargers across the country a few years ago. It is good enough that Tesla
is not building their Supercharger network there.
Tesla now has 4 factories building the Model Y, two new ones started up in the
last 7 months. Production totaled 600,000 in the six months from October 2021
to March 2022. It could easily double by the end of 2022. The transition to
EV’s will happen much faster than most people expect.

I am like Jim Mann, I don’t normally jump in on these kinds of posts, BUT…
This video is not the Allan Report. It is an interpretation of the Allan Report
from one political perspective. The fact that I am an Albertan, with both my
kids supporting families from employment in the Alberta Oil and Gas industry,
means I probably support this interpretation. However interpretations from
political perspectives are just another form of subjective advertising and they
annoy me.
I took the time to read the full Allan Report when it was released. There is a
lot more in it than what was included in this video and the findings were a lot
more nuanced. Suggesting the video’s interpretation tells the whole story is a
bit of an exaggeration, as are most interpretations, or advertising for that
matter (my opinion).
The transition from fossil fuels to other “cleaner” energy sources will take a
lot of time, capital investment and individual decisions by almost everyone in
the world (e.g., when it’s practical to buy an EV). Many people and
organizations are working on it and videos like this really annoy me by making
everything black and white.

G'day all,
Interesting report. I will try and follow this. If I read it right a lot of it
is legal but under handed.
I am for managing climate change. However, it is going to take some time for
the world to change and must keep going in the meantime. In OZ we have just
changed from a government totally against climate change to one for it. But
the plan to fight climate change is first starting with the generation of
electricity from coal (which we have heaps) to renewables and some natural gas
(we don't have oil.). However, transport will be decade or more as there is no
infrastructure to support EV's. Also the cost of EVs is at least 40% more than
petrol cars. So by not freeing up Canada's oil I am paying more for my petrol
(sorry Gas). Also there needs to be a Federal Plan to move away from fossil
fuels. Alberta should not be expected to shoulder all of the cost of moving.
I remember when the oil boom started and the easterners were saying it wasn't
fair Alberta got all the revenue. Just makes me see the West vs East contest
is still alive and well in Canada. In fact I remember writing a paper in Uni
when De Gaulle said "Viva Le Quebecois Libre" and there was a lot of talk about
Quebec separation. My paper was on the West separating not Quebec. We had the
resources and more north south ties than East West. Maybe should look at it
again.
Can't trust those Easteners. BTW I was born in Toronto but escaped at age 3.

Hi Guys
Attached is a 7 minute video about the Allan inquiry report. That was the
report commissioned by the current provincial government to identify money
being spent to reduce the province's, and therefore Canada's, oil sales.
I think this is another opportunity to show our diverse thoughts on a current
subject with the objective we can all learn from other points of view. .
Have a watch and comment.

-Interesting information. You don’t hear any of this in the media.
