Questions for Dana.

Therein lies one of my problems - wide welsh face, narrow muzzle, not much room
to work with, so fit must be really good. Hard to get a bit to fit! Needed
something that could have the tops bent out to accomodate his face - had to
settle for a buxton so we could at least go down the road! It is a bit
overkill, and certainly not ideal, esp since the bit bar is not fixed. I
agree, bit guards would be cumbersome and detract from the picture. Any
suggestions? Mouth is 4.5".

Also, Dana, I sent you an e-mail asking about the ADS weekend at Fair Hill, we
would like to attend, but would need more info. Thanks!

I think there is a bit of difference in our choice of driving animals,
Kathy. . . 12.2 hand ponies versus 16 hand Clevelands. I've found the
smaller ponies really need things to be as still as possible for them to be
steady. . . for example a double linked bit gives too much information for
one of mine, even as a single he is happier with some form of mullen mouth.
Butterfly mouthpieces can swivle out with out piching. Imagine a small pony
with a rubber bit guard. . . it would look like a second set of blinkers !

Dana
