I know there are lots of people that train driving horses by starting them in a pair. I'd guess there are some that will always need that support of their team mate. Others might be fine, but just need more work as a single, starting with the usual ground work.

I've never had to deal with that. All my pre-trained pairs (that I've tried), have gone single ok too.

Don Hayes Keep driving!

Pairs drivers deal with multiple pairs of feet so a discussion of a singel horse's foot condition is valid discussion and valuable to the entire group because we have to condition more feet than singles drivers.

Does anyone out there have a pair horse that won't drive single? I do.
Bought her from Gloria Austin and she works fine in a pair. Only goes
in reverse hooked single. Bought her as a pairs horse, so I wasn't
diappointed. Works great under saddle.
