And make sure with pair reins that you actually hook the reins to the
intended bits.  If each line is accidentally left hooked to only one horse,
they get pulled apart and driver has no control.  I made this mistake
recently... we hooked both ends of one rein to each horse's bit in order to
lead them individually to the sleigh, and forgot to unhook and rehook the
reins correctly.  Should've just hooked them right at the trailer and
ground-driven them to the sleigh.  Won't make that mistake twice.
