Hi Fellow Drivers I was privileged to review the pre-release copy of the Laurels DVD II and I want to pass on Dave's e-mail to the carriage driving list regarding ordering it. He really has done something wonderful for the sport of Combined Driving and this year's model is truly different and exciting. The viewer is actually riding with some of the world's best and experiencing what it is like to drive some great hazards. The behind the scenes segments are full of surprises and laughs that really give full flavor to the sport and it's participants. The Laurels was the National Championship for the Ponies so you'll get to see Tracey Morgan driving her pair of Dartmoor ponies in a blazing hazard performance to win the pair division. Anyway, I couldn't imagine how Dave and his crew could improve on last year's DVD but he has done something totally different and so much more exciting. Please support his efforts and buy both copies for your library. You won't regret it. Simple, you light a whole bale of little green pieces of paper with Grant's portrait on fire, and wing it. It's done ....finally. Do we want to do this again? No. Will Jamie hold a gun to my head if I don't? Yes. You guys be the judges. Ordering this year is simple. Simply go to www.fountainheadtv.com and follow the link, print out the form, and mail it in. There is also a special deal for the ones we had left over from last year. The individuals will ship when the discs arrive here from the copy house (I'll believe it when I see them) on Tuesday. We are only releasing this on DVD. When you see it, you'll know why....it's nothing like last year. There is just no way we could have put all the segments end to end on a tape. Lest anyone think this is a nice little money maker for us....a reminder. In TV land, producing long form documentaries works out to about $1000.00 per edited minute. Extras segments are less, but not much. For this project, with what we are charging per disc, "break even" would be 1600 copies. Last year we sold 400. This year we'll sell 400. But hey, you want to see a sport grow, sometimes you have to give it a good swift kick. I see driving doing in the future what the bull rider group did. Seen as a minor sideshow under the rodeo administrative & marketing machine, they broke away from the main body and promoted themselves, by themselves, got their own sponsors......and now look. Their organization has more sponsorship dollars than the rest of the rodeo disciplines combined....thank you very much (ref: Fortune Small Business). Like the bull people, we have to get driving under the noses of the right people, and I hope this DVD helps to that end.
