Cindy, I am currently in the midst of writing an article about hoof boots. Old Macs are one of the options there are also Swiss Boots, Marquis Boots, Horsneakers , Sabre Sneakers, Shoop, Davis and many more. Old Macs are good boots but must be measured and sized correctly. I just used some recently and mine were too big and caused expensive rubbing. Once they are on the horses hoof the company will not accept them for return although they are a very nice and polite company to deal with. If your equine has nice wide saucer shaped feet then they will probably work. If your horses feet are more oval shaped I would look at one of the other brands mentioned above. But be forewarned to measure well for the correct fit. All of the above stay on better, are easier to put on and less likely to come off or rub compared to easy boots. I have competed in all my HDT, CDE's barefoot this year and have been amazed at having no problems with traction, wear, soreness, etc. Ansley ----- Original Message ----- From: <koenenb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <sidesaddle@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; <mulesonly@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; <drivingpairs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, July 27, 2003 10:39 AM Subject: [drivingpairs] Re: Old Macs > Has anyone tried Old Macs on their critters? > > I'm thinking about buying some for a tender footed horse that doesn't work > often enough to need shoes but wow are they expensive.
