Barbara- Thanks for the kind words!! I really love pair driving and generally feel so much more comfortable with two as long as they both have semi-sane minds. As we are so hot down here there were times this summer that we drove in the dark of night down the roads in our neighborhood to avoid the heat. We just put on our reflective vests, I have a headlamp for my helmet and the ponies have amber flashers for their foreheads, chests and on the outside shaft loops. Then we have red flashers and SMV signs for the rear plus my husband with a big flashlight just in case. Would I have tried that with a single...not a chance! (Well I have done it but it wasn't as enjoyable and I wouldn't recommend it.) But they all seemed to love it and were very relaxed where we humans were mainly on red alert. The fjords weren't bothered in the least by the car headlights coming right at them or the deer jumping out of the dark either. Never underestimate the herd dynamic/dependence. I just try to become an important part of this and hope they learn to depend on me more as their leader when in harness than each other. Fjords are perfect and Pony Pairs rule! :-) Milli Ann Texas -----Original Message----- From: drivingpairs-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:drivingpairs-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Barbara Kurtz Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2006 7:48 AM To: drivingpairs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [drivingpairs] Re: New Pair Fjord Milli Ann, What a lovely post...I thoroughly enjoyed it. As a -just starting out- pairs driver I was very encouraged by your success. Thanks for sharing.
