Cindy had many questions about which horse was being trained by the rider
riding "tandem", the "wheeler" or the leader? Answer: All THREE, e.g. BOTH
horses to going one in front and the other behind, AND the rider in working
both horses. BUT all three should be well experienced already in single work.
Next Cindy asked if she could make trails narrower for a tandem than a pair.
Answer: No, because the tandem vehicle is as wide as a pair vehicle. Size of
animals: Yes, the leader can be a bit smaller, however, he MUST be more
FORWARD than the wheeler. For a good driving book, I recommend: "The
Principles of Driving - by The German National Equestrian Federation" and
second the recommenation of "Max Pape - The Art of Driving" both available
through the ADS (American Drivingh Society) and CAA (Carriage Association of
America).
