An added safety reminder: itchy,  wooly ponies are
even more prone than usual to rub off their bridles,
so you might want to take extra precautions:

- keep the bridlepath trimmed close
- braid a piece of forelock and the front section of
mane together over the crown piece of the bridle
- use a conencting strap under the jaw between the
throatlatch and the noseband

And, even though tis a little late in the season in
most parts of the country, you might just clip the
ponies so they're not so itchy.  The last thing you
want is to let them make a habit out of rubbing on one
another.
