wow that is interesting!!  But your experience with mares having a bit more 
to give and trying harder seems to be universal...I had a morgan mare that 
was unbelievable in what she had to give.  I never drove her - more's the 
pity.  What a cde horse she would have made.  Not too many hearts like hers. 
This is the first anniversary of her death - I miss her...and she never let 
hormones interfere with work!
