Nancy,

In the ADS rules, yellow pages for combined driving, Article 2036.4, Table 6
lists the number of grooms required and their position on the carriage. For
pairs (1 groom) and fours (2 grooms) the groom(s) are required to be on the
carriage and to be positioned behind the driver/whip in all phases. The
groom(s) must be seated in Dressage and Cones. Only singles and tandems
allow the groom to be seated beside the whip. The table is for the Advanced
level, for the lower levels singles do not require a groom in the Dressage
or Cones, but we are talking pairs/multiles here. Unicorns are not included
in the table.

If my memory serves me correctly you can get a dickey seat for the Flyer. I
don't think the dickey seat is listed but they will make one for you if you
require it.
