It was started by Barbara Weir in the East in August of 1977, and Barbara was President for at least the first 15 years. It was always a very informal "club" for the fun of it. Then it was dormant for some years in the East and was reactivated with a move to the S. Calif. in the mid 90's. The last activity that I can recall was a meeting at The Cutlers in Moorpark in Nov of 2000 for which Renie Gillis was doing the invitations. She had also been keeping the books the last few years before that. Besides Renie, also Jay Hubert, Judd Wright and the Cutler's were the main driving forces out here then. Perhaps any of them can chime in as well. I was - and think I still am (grin) - a member since 1985, although there hasn't been any activity, nor any dues charged or collected as far as I know since Nov of 1998. Did I hear somebody recently thinking out loud that they might want to do a meet in the Mid Atlantic Region? I think we'd be happy if anybody wants to pick up the tandem-club-reins again. Seems we need both, leaders and wheelers to get the cart into motion again :-) Hardy
