Here it is October already and the dollar store has
lots of Halloween stuff out, along with a little
Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. Let the seasonal
retail frenzy begin. :) No, I won't write a lengthy
diatribe on the commercialization of the holidays,
especially Christmas. There've been quite enough
of those. Like it or not, that's one of those things
we just have to live with.

Online surveys are a so-so way to make money. There's no
way you could survive on it but if you have lots of free
time that you'd otherwise spend zoned out in front of the
TV set it might work for you. We don't own a TV set and I
have a little free time so it works for me.

Last words:
This one is kind of sparse isn't it? Seems like I spend all
my time online doing surveys, hanging out on facebook, or
shopping on eBay. I'll make an effort to do a little better
next month.
Halloween is one of those holidays that some folks just
love and look forward to every year. When I was a kid it
was a big deal to me and it was still a big deal when I
had kids of my own who still lived at home but, any more,
it's not such a big deal. We live in a small village full
of retired folks. The few families with kids drive them to
some other town in the region to go trick-or-treating.
There are very few homes in this community that even have
their porch light on for the evening of October 31st (that
being the universal sign that 'there's candy here').
