Don's Patch Issue #2006-01-15 from http://www.don-guitar.com First words, from Don: Lisa and I have had a few days off work now, an extended weekend more or less, and have really enjoyed sleeping in, staying up late, listening to internet radio, playing on the computer and cooking whenever we felt like it. We both enjoy cooking and especially enjoy cooking together. Last night, for example, she made a chicken pot pie (wheat and corn free) while I prepared some okra fried in Arrowroot and Garbanzo bean flour. That sounds pretty exotic doesn't it? Maybe so, but Garbanzo bean flour makes really great breading for fried vegetables and a little Arrowroot adds just the right "stickiness" and texture. I would never have believed that learning to cook without wheat, corn or milk would be such a great adventure. I recently a page to promote our website and ezine http://www.don-guitar.com/promotpourri.html and finally got around to posting some of the nice things you readers have said. http://www.don-guitar.com/comments.html We've also had plenty of time to devote to researching and selecting websites for this issue so let's get to it. The world's coolest computer, without software, is like a car without fuel. It might look great, but what can it do? It doesn't matter who produces the software you love and use regularly, the developers of that software need your support. A bit of advice from Internet veteran Bayard J. Fox: New computer users are often in awe of the things you can get without cost on the Internet. There can be hidden costs for the unwary. Use a "throw away" email address to register, and be constantly on guard against giving away personal information. Use a firewall, and provide only the barest minimum of information on questionnaires. ªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªªª This is a reader-supported publication.
