Hey it does! Interesting idea. But it's so much simpler just to do a quick
expected-version-vs-actual-version check, report a collision, and say "sorry,
try again." It won't happen often enough to bug anyone (and unsavy users won't
have to figure out what's going on or send bug reports to the admin).
Besides, you'd have to report conflicts and leave them unresolved.
