[dokuwiki] namespace-path of images

Hello,
if i create a new page in a namespace and upload images (using the
toolbar-icon), they will be placed in an media subsection with the
same namespace as the current page.
Now my question is: Why is the full namespace-path included in the
placed image ?
Would'nt it be enough to just name the picture ?
I tried to use "relative" namespace-path's myself, but they don't
work. It seems they MUST be given absolute.
Is this all true and if, shouldn't this be changed ?
