Hi everyone, Andi did remind everyone that top posting is not the desired reply format on this list just a couple of days ago [1] - looking at the following threads apparently not to much avail. ~4 out of ~8 threads still contain top posting, so it obviously didn't reach all the people who where addressed, that's why I'm writing this. Before I go on: This is not about the "why" top posting is preferred on this list. That's the way it is and it shall not be discussed here. For those looking for arguments, please use google, you'll probably find some heated discussions about the pros/cons of top posting very quickly ;). It seems to me that this is a continuing trend on this list, and in my case it led to me not reading through threads at all which contain top posting, especially when it's mixed in the thread every 2nd post or so. (I simply don't have the time to read mailinglist mails jumping for and backwards between mails to see who meant what in reply to who). So, maybe it's about time to give the whole issue it's own section on the mailing list page [2]. I know, it's a Wiki but I'd like to also ask first if this is OK for all people involved. Mainly I'm talking about turning the "key recommendations" into "key rules" and give them their own section so people will "see it" better. That will not prevent everyone from top posting, but IMHO it'll probably save us some arguments if we could point people to rules instead of recommendations. Also, it's way to long ago that I remember the registration process of this mailinglist, but I think freelists allows to add some text to the registration mails you get from the ml the first time. Maybe we could add a link to the mailinglist rules there too (if that's not the case already, but as I said, that's too long ago).
