Because idx files are rebuilt by comparing time stamps with files in
the ./meta directory,
if the cache directory is deleted, the idx files do not know they
should be rebuilt.
The cache directory was deleted in a heavy handed attempt to get a
non-cached view of
the pages, after changes in .css files, etc.
