Hi I sent of a set of "globalstart" enhancement patches for review to Guy Brand which among other things address this issue for me. I will attach them here, but I haven't had any feedback from him -- they might break something, although I haven't had any problems yet on one of our internal company wikis. The global start is a replacement of Guy's patch with does a little more (additionally working like the autoplural feature for in-wiki links, not just incoming browser urls). Add a $conf['globalstart'] = 1 to your local.php to activate it. The second fixes the bread crumbs as you suggest below and depends on the first. The third fixes the ajax search for pages such that it also works similarly by finding the namespace name if the page is $conf['start'] in the namespace (i.e. quick page searching for "lin" will find "linux:index" too). This also depends on the first patch. The patches are against 2006-03-09. Let me know if it works for you.
