[dokuwiki] Unexpected parse results

I've got a wiki page that includes the following table content:
^ Language | JAVA:ON, CPP:ON, C:ON, PHP:OFF |
I'm using a custom renderer to export this in a special format.
The content of the second cell is being passed as two cdata blocks to
the renderer:
JAVA:ON, CPP:ON, C:ON,
and
PHP:OFF
If I change PHP to ABC then I only get one block, which is what I was
expecting.
Why is 'PHP' being treated differently in this context?
I'm running the latest release.
