Aye, this is one of the things that impresses me about Dokuwiki. And the
neatness and well designedness of the original code.
New Features (from bastya elvtars)

Some are already available in packed format, those by Esther, Andi and
myself. Hopefully more will be added once the plugin manager is fully
released.
